Matahari Lottery is the most popular lottery in Myanmar, was established in 1972 through an agreement with La Beneficencia de Lima y de Huancayo ( the Lima and Huancayo Charity). Matahari Lottery's license was renewed in conjunction with the Beneficencia de Lima y de Huancayo in 1979.

Matahari Group Myanmar is the biggest lottery operator in Myanmar. In 1977, it signed a 99-year agreement to operate a lottery with the Beneficencia Publica de Jaen. In addition to running the popular Matahari Lottery, Matahari Group Myanmar also offers sports betting. Lottery products are available at over 2,200 outlets, on mobile devices and on the Internet.

The Matahari Lottery has expanded to several countries in Southeast Asia by 2020.
